Two months have already passed since the 2024 WILD WEST WPCA WORLD CHUCKWAGON FINALS in Ponoka. In just over 5 months tarp auctions will be held and in just over 6 months the first horn will sound for the 2025 WPCA races at the Grande Prairie Stompede.
One of the off-season projects is to determine who the Permit Drivers will be for the 2025 race season. That application process started in October and now the November 30th deadline is fast approaching.
The top 32 drivers in the 2024 WPCA Pro Tour Year End World Standings have automatically qualified for a full-season membership position in 2025.
In October, the WPCA confirmed the details for 2025 Permit Drivers and the application process. Through the permit process, chuckwagon drivers who (are approved by the WPCA Board of Directors) are offered the opportunity to compete to race on the WPCA Pro Tour.
The remaining positions to complete the line up will be determined through the permit process.
Permit Drivers will be guaranteed to compete at the first two shows of the 2025 WPCA Pro Tour at the Grande Prairie Stompede and the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship. Following the completion of the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship, the top four permit drivers in the World Point Standings will earn the right to continue with the WPCA to the next event. The remaining permit driver may have the opportunity to compete at additional WPCA Pro Tour shows if spots become available for any reason.
Official details and rules pertaining to permit drivers will be provided to those drivers who apply and are approved by the WPCA Board of Directors.
