In 2022, the WPCA implemented a permit system whereby sanctioned chuckwagon drivers from other professional associations could enter at selected WPCA events.
The deadline for permit drivers to enter the Grande Prairie Stompede is March 1, 2023. Permit drivers must attend the Grande Prairie Tarp Auction which is scheduled for early April. The top 34 drivers on the 2022 WPCA Pro Tour automatically earned a spot on the 2023 Tour. The top 2 permit drivers after Grande Prairie will earn a spot to join the WPCA in Bonnyville.
Tuff Dreger is one of the permit drivers who has his eyes set on being a full time member on the tour. Grandson to wagon racing legend, Kelly Sutherland, Tuff is one of the passionate young guns who represent the sports future.
