The Ponoka Stampede is more than just rodeo, it’s an 83 year old tradition.
In 1936 a 2-day Stampede, Carnival and Sports Event celebrated on the July 1st holiday was formed and this was the inception of the Ponoka Stampede. In 1941 chuckwagon racing was introduced to the Ponoka Stampede with the help of the Dorchester family.
Fast forward to 2019 and the Ponoka Stampede will feature 36 of the best chuckwagon drivers in the world and you and your company can be part of it.
On May 3, 2019 the Ponoka Stampede will host the WPCA Pro Tour Tarp Auction in the Stagecoach Saloon located on the Ponoka Stampede grounds. The 36 drivers on the WPCA Pro Tour will be up for auction and the highest bidder on each driver will win the right to advertise their company on his chuckwagon tarp during the Ponoka Stampede.

Attend the LIVE auction in Ponoka or participate in the online bidding. Receive prime advertising, be a part of history and participate in western hospitality at its finest. Your company brand will be on the Chuckwagon for all 6 nights of Chuckwagon racing at the 2019 Ponoka Stampede.
In addition to the extensive advertising, you and your company will Experience “behind the scenes” of Chuckwagon racing as your driver takes you through his barn. You will learn about the Chuckwagon lifestyle, history and meet his skilled equine team of thoroughbreds.
If you would like to purchase a Chuckwagon Tarp but cannot attend the auction, give the Ponoka Stampede Association your budget and they will bid for you.
