Chanse Vigen Takes The Day Money On Night 2 Of The 2024 Cowboys Rangeland Derby

Night 2 of the Cowboys Rangeland Derby ran on a warm Saturday night in Calgary. It was a very competitive night of racing, racetrack conditions were very good, and when the sun went down on Calgary, Chanse Vigen – “the Rangeland Derby Rockstar”, driving the KMA Construction & KMA Scaffolding Services outfit, took the day money with a run of 1:11.76.

From barrel number 1 in the 8th heat, Vigen was the top wagon on the night by just 5 one-hundredths of a second over Jason Glass. Rae Croteau Jr. placed third, followed by day 1 winner Chad Fike with Doug Irvine filling out the top five on the night.

Former Calgary Stampede Champion Jason Glass now sits atop the leaderboard in the overall aggregate standings with a two-day total of 2:23.39. That puts him 52 one-hundredths of a second ahead of Chad Fike. World points leader Rae Croteau Jr. is hanging on to third place overall. The day money run has moved Chanse Vigen moved up into fourth place overall, 64 one-hundredths of a second out of third hole, with 2024 Grande Prairie Stompede Champion Jamie Laboucane making out the top five overall after seven nights.
