After a successful run at the Calgary Stampede Cowboys Rangeland Derby, the WPCA Pro Tour resumed in the Town of High River for the Battle of the Foothills. It was a beautiful summer night, chuckwagon fans were treated to ideal weather and racetrack conditions and nine heats of the best of professional chuckwagon racing. When the sun settled on High River, Chanse Vigen emerged as the day money winner with a penalty free run of 1:16.00.
Coming off barrel number 2 in the 8th heat, Vigen – driving the Volker Stevin/Glover International Trucks outfit – placed first on the night by 41 one-hundredths of a second over defending champion Jamie Laboucane to win the day money. Josh Hrynyk placed third, with Rae Croteau Jr. and Chad Fike rounding out the top five for the night.
Day 2 from the Battle of the Foothills in High River can be heard live on Friday night, July 26, 2024 starting at 9:00pm ET, 8:00pm CT and 7:00pm MT on New Country.
