Rae Croteau Jr. – Wins the Day Money On Night 9 In Calgary

There was a lot on the line on night number nine of the Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby presented by Play Alberta. The evening had absolutely perfect weather and racetrack conditions. When the night was complete, and after nine days of competitive chuckwagon racing, the championship final heat for the 2025 Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby presented by Play Alberta has now been set as Chanse Vigen, Jamie Laboucane, and Jason Glass will make up the 2025 Championship Final Heat.
Chanse Vigen qualified for Sunday’s Championship Final in first place overall after recording the fastest aggregate time over nine nights with a 10:54.33. Jamie Laboucane qualified in second place overall with a nine day aggregate time of 10:55.81, and defending champion Jason Glass who held onto that ever so important third place with a nine day total of 10:59.07. Rae Croteau Jr. placed fourth and missed the championship final heat by 2.16 seconds, and Obrey Motowylo placed fifth, 2.46 seconds out of third spot as well.
As far as the day results go, Rae Croteau Jr.’s Bar L-5 Ranch outfit won the day money with the top time of the night after posting a 1:11.84 from barrel number two in the eighth heat. That put him just 6 one-hundredths of a second ahead of Jason Glass who also ran in heat eight, followed by Logan Gorst, Jamie Laboucane, with Chanse Vigen and Evan Salmond splitting fifth place on the night.
