The 2025 edition of the Battle of the North Championship in Dawson Creek, British Columbia is in the books, and Chance Bensmiller, driving the LMV Energy Services outfit, and along with outriders Nolan Cameron and Brendan Nolin, captured the championship and the $15,000.00 bonus cheque. It’s the second time Chance Bensmiller has captured the Dawson Creek crown with his first coming in 2008.
Chance Bensmiller won the championship with penalty free run of 1:13.71 from barrel position number 3. Aggregate winner Chanse Vigen placed second from barrel number 4, 47 one-hundredths of a second behind the champion Chance Bensmiller. Jason Glass grabbed third from barrel position number 1, while Obrey Motowylo placed fourth from barrel position number 2.
As far as the day results go, Chance Bensmiller’s championship run was the Alberta AG Centre’s Fast Time Of The Night, with fellow finalists Chanse Vigen and Jason Glass posting the second and third fastest times respectively. Chad Fike placed fourth, and Obrey Motowylo rounded out the top five on the night. Four of the five fastest times on the final night came from the Championship Final Heat Number 9. Earlier in the evening, Chance Thomson was presented with the Kenn Borek Memorial Most Sportsmanlike Driver award.
The 2025 WPCA Pro Tour will conclude next week in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta with the final stop of the season with the Battle of the Rockies starting on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 and running through to Sunday, August 17, 2025.
