Jamie Laboucane – Number 1 On Night 3 In Medicine Hat

It was at hot 24°C under cloudy skies, very good race track conditions for day 3 of the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede. It was the final night for the drivers to try and qualify for the championship final heat on Sunday afternoon. When the evening was complete, Chanse Vigen, Rae Croteau Jr. and Kirk Sutherland will be the three drivers bidding for the 2024 Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Championship.
Chanse Vigen reclaimed first place overall with a three-day combined time of 3:09.60, followed by Rae Croteau Jr. who moved up from ninth place overall at the start of the day into second place overall, 86 one-hundredths of a second behind the aggregate winner Vigen, with Kirk Sutherland grabbing the third and final qualifying spot in Sunday’s final. D.J. King and Evan Magee ended up tying for fifth place overall, with both drivers missing the championship final by 90 one-hundredths of a second.
As far as day results are concerned, world points leader Jamie Laboucane had the fast time of evening after posting a 1:02.88 from barrel 1 in the 12th heat. Laboucane’s Wild Rows Pump & Compression Ltd. outfit won the day money by 15 one-hundredths of a second over Chanse Vigen. Rae Croteau Jr. placed third, while Luke Tournier and Jason Glass placed fourth and fifth respectively on the night.
