Weather wise it was a perfect night and racetrack were again excellent as night 2 of the Battle of the North at Mile “0” of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek, British Columbia was run on Thursday evening. Under partly cloudy skies and a warm 23°C, the night saw Chad Fike take the top time after a penalty free run of 1:13.70.

From barrel number 3 in the 8th heat, Fike’s TOMCO Group of Companies outfit was the top wagon of the night by 9 one-hundreds of a second over reigning Calgary Stampede Champion Jason Glass who settled for second place on the night. Even with a 1 second starting ahead of the horn penalty, day 1 winner Chanse Vigen placed third, Darcy Flad placed fourth, and Kirk Sutherland had the fifth best time on the night.

After two runs, Chanse Vigen continues to lead the overall aggregate standings with a combined time of 2:28.93, by and leads by 53 one-hundreds of a second over day money winner Chad Fike. Jason Glass and defending champion Rae Croteau Jr. complete the top four, with Layne MacGillivray just 12 one-hundredths of a second out of that ever so important fourth spot overall.

The top driver in the aggregate after Saturday night will get a one-year lease of a 2024 GMC Truck courtesy of Banister GM Dawson Creek. The top 4 drivers in the aggregate after Saturday’s run will go into $30,000.00 Championship Final Heat where the winner will be crowned the 2024 Battle of the North Champion.
