Rae Croteau Jr. – Almost Broke His Own Track Record On Night 3 In Dawson Creek

It was a beautiful night as night 3 of the Battle of the North at in Dawson Creek, British Columbia was run on Friday night. It was a very warm 25°C under mostly sunny skies, and it was defending Battle of the North Champion Rae Croteau Jr. who posted the top time of the race meet so far with a 1:12.78.
From barrel number 4 in the 9th heat, Croteau’s Cinch Oilfield Hauling & Cranes Ltd. outfit was the top wagon of the night by a small 7 one-hundreds of a second margin over Jason Glass who placed second on the night. Jamie Laboucane placed third, while Kurt Bensmiller and Obrey Motowylo placed fourth and fifth on the night. The day money run for Rae Croteau Jr. was just 7 one-hundreds of a second off of the track record of 1:12.71 that Croteau set back in 2015.
With one run to go to try and earn a spot in Sundays’ Championship Final Heat, Jason Glass now sits atop the overall aggregate standings with a three-run combined time of 3:42.78, by and leads by 1.35 seconds over day money winner Rae Croteau Jr.. Chad Fike slipped to third place overall, while Chanse Vigen dropped from first to fourth place overall. Jamie Laboucane, who was last year’s aggregate winner in Dawson Creek is in fifth place overall, just 49 one-hundredths of a second out of that ever so important fourth spot overall.
The top driver in the aggregate after Saturday night will get a one-year lease of a 2024 GMC Truck courtesy of Banister GM Dawson Creek. The top 4 drivers in the aggregate after Saturday’s run will go into $30,000.00 Championship Final Heat where the winner will be crowned the 2024 Battle of the North Champion.
