Chad Fike was the odd man out, just 22 one-hundredths of a second out of fourth place, followed by Obrey Motowylo, Kurt Bensmiller and Mitch Sutherland. It’s the first time since the Ponoka Stampede introduced the semi-final format in 2012 that all four wagons came out of the same semi-final heat. All four finalists ran in heat number seven tonight. Earlier in the night, Chanse Vigen was presented with a new 2025 GMC Sierra Pickup Truck that he will have the use of for one year courtesy of Summit Fleet for being the aggregate winner. It’s the third consecutive year Chanse Vigen has won the award at the Ponoka STampede.
For the fourth time in five runs, Chanse Vigen and his McWilliam Automotive & CBI Solar outfit claimed the Alberta AG Centre Fast Time of the Night after posting a very rapid time of 1:12.33 from barrel position number one in the seventh heat. Evan Salmond placed second overall from the same semi-final heat number seven, 86 one-hundredths of a second behind Chanse Vigen. Race Croteau Jr. was third, Jordie Fike placed fourth, with Jamie Laboucane filling out the top five runs on the night. Six of the eight semi-finalists all placed inside the top ten on night 5.
