The action of the 2023 WPCA Pro Tour may be over, however, the excitement for 2024 has already begun.
Earlier this week, the WPCA confirmed the details for 2024 Permit Drivers and the application process. Through the permit process, chuckwagon drivers who (are approved by the WPCA Board of Directors) are offered the opportunity to compete to race on the WPCA Pro Tour.
The top 32 drivers in the 2023 WPCA Pro Tour Year End Standings have automatically qualified for a full season membership position in 2024. The top 32 from 2023 include Permit Drivers and Full Season Members.
The remaining 4 for positions to complete the 36 driver line up will be determined through the permit process.
Starting in Grande Prairie, the Permit Drivers will be entered and compete as part of the WPCA Pro Tour show. The Permit Drivers will earn points based on their race results. The top 4 permit drivers in the point standings after the Grande Prairie Stompede will earn the right to continue with the WPCA to the next event.
The deadline to apply to be a permit driver for the 2024 Race Season is NOVEMBER 30, 2023 at 11:59PM Mountain Standard Time.
Official details and rules pertaining to permit drivers will be provided to those drivers who apply and are approved by the WPCA Board of Directors.
