It wasn’t long ago the grandstands were empty and the sport of chuckwagon racing was put on hold as the world navigated through the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and part of 2021. Since then, the World Professional Chuckwagon Association, Volunteers, Committees, Fans, and Sponsors have collaborated to rebound from the challenges of not racing. In many cases, the rebound has included an increase in ticket sales and sold-out events.
One of the events that has continued to grow is the WPCA Awards Banquet. In 2023, the banquet was forced to relocate 3 weeks before the event date when the ticket sales exceeded the original venue’s capacity. The interest in the WPCA year-end celebration has carried over into 2024 and on Monday it was confirmed all the seats for the 2024 WPCA Awards Banquet have been sold.
Held at the Carriage House Inn and hosted by WPCA track announcer Les McIntyre, this year’s event will not only honor achievements but also bring the wagon racing community together in a vibrant setting to celebrate the champions and people who continue to help shape the WPCA with their tireless work.”
