Personal Information

A 3rd generation chuckwagon driver, Blaid enters his third season on the WPCA Pro Tour. 2018 saw Blaid have the best single run of his professional career with a ninth place run at the Grande Prairie Stompede.  Prior to joining the WPCA, Blaid spent the previous four seasons on the amateur Western Chuckwagon Association (WCA) circuit. He enjoyed his best season on the WCA circuit in 2016 placing 10th overall in the season standings and was awarded the WCA Safety Award for least penalized driver. Blaid is the grandson of former Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Champion Herman Flad, and the son of current driver Troy Flad. He enjoys hockey and hunting and even received a letter of commendation from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Blaid is a farmer and an oil industry heavy equipment operator in the off season, is single, and makes his home in Warburg, Alberta.
