Personal Information
A very inviting personality and a veteran chuckwagon driver, Darcy is a two-time Colonial Days Fair champion, a three-time Colonial Days Fair Aggregate Winner, and a former winner of the WPCA Top Rookie Driver and Most Improved Driver awards. In 2015 Darcy established a new track record at the Colonial Days Fair and qualified for championship final heat at the Grande Prairie Stompede – the first of his career in a major chuckwagon event. In 2018, a fourth place run at the Ponoka Stampede and a ninth lace run at the Battle of the North were his best of the year.  Darcy is the eldest son of former Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Champion the late Herman Flad, older brother to fellow driver Troy Flad, and cousin to reigning World Champion Outrider Chance Flad. A rancher in the off-season, Darcy is a graduate of Olds College and has two children - Layne and Cheyenne-Jill. He lists hockey, rodeo, team roping and hunting among his other interests and hobbies. Darcy and Richelle make their home in Bodo, Alberta.
