Personal Information

Pat Powell is a new full time addition to the 2008 WPCA Dodge Pro Tour. In 2007, Pat drove as a replacement driver for Jason Glass at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede and placed a very respectable 18th overall. At the 2007 WPCA Qualification Run-Off, Pat dominated the event posting 2 first place runs, one 2nd place run and a 5th place run over the four day event. He placed 1st overall in points and aggregate time and earned a spot on the 2008 WPCA Dodge Pro Tour. Pat designed and built the first collapsable hydraulic barns that are now used by many drivers on the WPCA Dodge Pro Tour. He first got interested in chuckwagon racing when he moved to Grande Prairie in 1980 and met Kirk and Kelly Sutherland. He first grabbed the lines in 2001 and has driven a handful of events in the World Professional, Canadian Professional and Western Chuckwagon Associations, capturing the Rio Grande Show and qualifying for the sudden death fianls of the Grande Prairie show with the Western Chuckwagon Association. Pat enjoys flying and ski-dooing in the off season. Pat and his wife Shannon have 3 children - Ryan, Christopher and Travis - and make their home in Cochrane, Alberta.
