Personal Information
Grant Profit is consistently a top competitor on the WPCA Dodge Pro Tour. He won the Ralph Vigen Memorial Award for the top aggregate time at the Grand Prairie Stompede and had a horse named to the WPCA's Equine Outfit of Excellence in 2009. 2009 saw Grant post 23 top ten runs including 6 first place runs and 12 runs that cracked the top five. He qualified for the sudden death championship final heat at the Grande Prairie Stompede, and had top 10 overall finishes at 5 show championships. He has won 4 show championships including major wins at the North American Chuckwagon Championship in High River and the Ponoka Stampede Championship, and has placed in the top ten at the Calgary Stampede 4 times in the past 8 years. Grant is a 2-time recipient of the WPCA's Most Improved Chuckwagon Outfit Award and was runner-up for the World Chuckwagon Championship in 1999. Originally from The Pas, Manitoba, Grant drove pony wagons for many years before moving up to the thoroughbred chuckwagons. Grant and his wife Shelly - the 2006 Ty Tournier Memorial Award recipient - have two daughters - Charleigh and Calie and make their home in Cochrane, Alberta. Grant has participated in EnCana’s WPCA/4-H Mentorship Program annually since 2006, and works in the movie industry in the off-season.
