Personal Information
2019 will see Curtis realize a dream as he was invited to compete at the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby for the first time as a chuckwagon driver. Curtis was selected to drive the Calgary Stampede’s demonstration race – “Chuckwagon 101” – at the GMC Rangeland Derby, and a ninth place run at the Saskatoon World Chuckwagon Races were some highlights from the 2018 season. A role model for many First Nation Youths, Curtis Curtis spent his first four years as a chuckwagon driver on the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association (CPCA) circuit where he won his first show championship at the Oil & AG Turtleford Derby in 2014, was named the CPCA’s CPCA Most improved Driver in 2013, and qualified for his first career championship final heat at the Wainwright Stampede. His chuckwagon career began as an outrider on the CPCA circuit in 1991 before moving up into the box as a driver in 2012. Curtis is a 2nd generation driver whose father is former driver Bruce Morin and brother is current driver Kelly Morin. In the off season Curtis owns and operates CWM Enterprises providing raw water services specializing in dust control in road construction and making ice roads in the winter months on pipelines. Curtis and his wife Shalean have seven children – Joshua, Cassidy, Bronco, Tayah, Astara, Sierra and Presley - and makes their off-season home in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
