Personal Information
One of the most naturally talented all around athletes in professional chuckwagon racing, Chad was the recipient of the Herman Flad Memorial Award for the WPCA Most Improved Driver in 2016. 2016 saw this 4th generation wagon man post 7 top ten runs including 4 runs that cracked the top 5.  Consistency was Chad's calling card in 2016 as he posted top 12 overall finishes at Saskatoon, Ponoka, and Strathmore, along with a season best 8th place finish at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship. Overall, Chad improved 6 spots from 2015 to finish a personal best 17th in the WPCA World Standings. Chad made debut at the Calgary Stampede in 2015 and took home the Orville Strandquist Memorial Award, symbolic of the Rangeland Derby’s Top Rookie Driver, and that same year he won his first career day money at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship. Chad qualified for his first WPCA championship final heat at the Grande Prairie Stompede in 2014, and when he made his debut as a chuckwagon driver on the Western Chuckwagon Association (WCA) circuit in 2012, he qualified for the dash for cash heats in both at the Grande Prairie and Dawson Creek stops – the first two race meets of his career. Chad was the WPCA Top Rookie Driver in 2013 and the World Champion Outrider in 2012. As an outrider, he was part of two Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Championship outfits, three Calgary Stampede Aggregate winners, and was the WPCA’s Top Rookie Outrider in 2005. Chad is a 4th generation chuckwagon competitor, whose great-grandfather Wilbur David and grandfather Ron David are former drivers, he is the younger brother to fellow driver Jordie Fike, and his mother Dona is a former WPCA chuckwagon judge. Chad and his wife Catlin have two children - Racin and Ryden - and make their home in Cremona, Alberta in the off season. Chad runs the hockey rink in Cremona and enjoys dirt biking, basketball, & golfing.
