In 2013 he won the Calgary Stampede's Orville Strandquist Memorial Award for Top Rookie Driver when he qualified for "Semi-Final Saturday," and his 3 place overall aggregate finish at the GMC Rangeland Derby is one of the best ever by a rookie driver. That same year his horse "CANDY" was named the Calgary Stampede Equine Outfit of Excellence Champion Right Wheeler. The 2015 season saw Chanse post 10 top ten runs, including 2 first place runs and 4 runs that cracked the top five. A tenth place overall aggregate finish at the Saskatoon World Chuckwagon Races was his best of the season. As an outrider, Chanse had an outstanding 2015 season winning his 4th career Ponoka Stampede outriding for Kirk Sutherland, the Strathmore Stampede outriding for Jason Glass, and in the championship final heat at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, he filled in on John Walter’s Winning outfit. In 2012 Chanse won the WPCA Top Rookie Driver award, had a horse named to the WPCA’s Equine Outfit of Excellence, and become just the fifth driver in WPCA history to qualify for the Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby in his rookie year. Chanse is a record five-time World Champion outrider, was the WPCA’s Top Rookie Outrider in 2001, received the Rod Glass Memorial Award for the WPCA’s Most Improved Outrider in 2002, has and outrode for three Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Championship outfits, and four Calgary Stampede Aggregate winners.
