Personal Information
Fast becoming one of the chuckwagon racing's premier young drivers, 2014 will be Logan's third consecutive year on the WPCA Pro Tour. He posted 7 top ten runs in 2013, including his first ever day money run as a member of the WPCA at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede, and 3 runs that cracked the top five. An eighth place overall finish at the Battle of the North and a fifth place overall finish at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship were his best of the year. In addition to driving his own outfit, Logan acted as a replacement driver for his injured father-in law Luke Tournier the last 2 shows of the season, and drove the demonstration race at Stampede 101 taking such notable dignitaries such as Calgary Stampede President Bob Thompson, astronaut Chris Hadfield, and Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi on a ride around the half mile of hell at the Calgary Stampede.  Logan outrode for both of Luke Tournier’s Calgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby Championship Outfits and both of Tournier's Calgary Stampede Aggregate winners. Previously a member of the CPCA, Logan won 3 career show championships and once qualified for the winner–take–all final for the CPCA Championship in just 4 years of competing as a driver. He is a four–time CPCA Champion Outrider, won the CPCA High Point Rookie Driver Award in 2008, and has qualified for Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby three times. A third generation chuckwagon competitor, Logan is the grandson of former driver Art Gorst, son of current driver Gary Gorst, brother to outrider Dustin Gorst, cousin to CPCA driver Layne Bremner, and son–in–law of two–time Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Champion Luke Tournier. He and his wife Shalyn have two daughters - Danika and Tayva and make their home in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Logan works as an Electrician/Instrumentation Journeyman Technician with Flashpoint Electric at the Cenovus Foster Creek site in the off season and plays hockey for the Meadow Lake Stampeders.
